1. Use the word FREE. When sending direct mail, offer a FREE quote, booklet, article, or some small item that helps prospects respond to your offer. The thing to remember is that the word FREE does prompt a prospect to call, especially when they’re doubtful about doing so.
2. Send a series of direct mail pieces, not just one. Don’t rely on just one direct mailing. Instead, plan to send the second mailing 2-3 weeks later and a third mailing two weeks after that. Besides increasing your visibility in front of prospects, your chances of grabbing their attention are higher if you send more than one mailing in a short period of time.
3. Ask questions. Include questions in your ads and other marketing materials to engage the reader.
